Soon after John S Pemberton prepared the first batch of syrup of ‘Coca-Cola’ on May 8, 1886 his friend and bookkeeper, F.M Robinson chose an alliterative name. He wrote the words in the now familiar flowing “Spencerian “script and ‘Coca-Cola’ was registered officially in the US Patent and Trademark Office in 1893. A century later, The Coca-Cola Company has produced more than 10 billion gallons of syrup.
In 1886, Coca-Cola® brought refreshment to patrons of a small Atlanta pharmacy. Now well into its second century, the Company’s goal is to provide magic every time someone drinks one of its more than 400 brands.
Solution
Coke wished to launch a campaign for Coca-Cola Pump Water titled ‘Pump Weekender’- a ‘guide with a to do list’ of the great, cool events happening in your city.
For this project, Coke wished to develop a website which allows users to browse various events in Australia, which were to be fetched by third party RSS feeds. Users of the site can also login via a Facebook connect feature, and add events to their own ‘to-do’ list.
The solution not only contains the ability for Coke and its partners to manage the site, but also manage events, cool lists, images on the site and all other features.
The site was developed using PHP, and is also hosted by Newpath WEB.
