NQPHN was seeking a consultative and collaborative relationship with a trusted digital agency to design, develop, and support a robust, user friendly, integrated, and secure website that engages its stakeholders and accurately reflects its priorities and offerings.

The NQPHN region extends from Moranbah in the south, up to the Torres Strait in the north, and west to Croydon and Kowanyama. The new website needed to consider information that is relevant to communities living in these regions and presented in a way that engages them and is easy to use.

NQPHN wanted a partner that would advise on and implement best practice in website user-friendliness, manage the new website using best practice processes in security, site backups, CMS and plugin updates, hosting, and other essential elements to ensure the website continues to operate at the highest possible capacity on an ongoing basis.

The website needed landing pages where users can choose between information relevant for consumers, or information relevant for health care providers. A secure service provider portal. An events calendar allowing third parties to submit their events and NQPHN to approve/publish. A job board where third parties can fill out a form to upload their own job advert and to NQPHN approve/publish. Social media feeds.  Newsletter integration. Approximately 70 pages with varying levels of complexity and levels of interaction with the user. An interactive map of northern Queensland, specifying Hospital and Health Service regions and local government areas, listing NQPHN funded services by region.

Newpath Were selected by NQPHN after a detailed RFQ process, winning out on Drupal experience, deep expertise in Government and Health, alongside excellent value for money for the solution being sought.

After a comprehensive discovery and business analysis phase identifying and documenting all functional and non functional system requirements, the Newpath creative team got to work with project stakeholders at NQPHN to craft UX & UI designs, along with a detailed design narrative for our Drupal development team. Drupal was selected for its robust content management, security, extendability and total cost of ownership benefits. The solution was deployed onto AWS based platform for hosting, and Newpath continues to manage and maintain the website, keeping the Drupal CMS up to date while also designing and developing all new features and functionality for the site as it continues to evolve.

Newpath & NQPHN are both thrilled with the final result, which is a website that hits each element of the original brief. It’s a site that speaks clearly to NQPHN stakeholders and customers, is easy to use, and effectively supports the region it’s aimed at caring for.
