Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm

This month Google completed the second version of its mobile-friendly update.

The Google mobile-friendly algorithm is focused on giving boosted ranking to mobile-friendly websites in mobile search results.

This was flagged by Google in March, outlining that they were preparing to boost the mobile-friendly algorithm in May, and clearly, that has finished rolling out today.

It is believed that this rollout will have less impact than the original mobile-friendly update, which was called “Mobilegeddon.”

This update is technically focused on increasing the effect of the mobile-friendly ranking signal. And of course, as Google has advised, if your website is already mobile-friendly, you have nothing to worry about, and will not be impacted negatively by this update.

The impact of this second roll out may not be immediately felt, as the Google mobile-friendly algorithm is a page-by-page signal, so it may take time for Google to assess each page.

You may start seeing ranking and traffic changes from Google’s mobile search results to your site this week due to this update.
