The brief__

Since the 1970’s Spiral Foods has been promoting the Macrobiotic way of life, building over the decades to be one of Australia’s leading suppliers of quality traditional foods with an emphasis on Organics.

Spiral Foods approached Newpath to discuss an organisation and brand wide SEO strategy and campaign management solution.


The process__

With an in-house marketing team, Spiral Foods was looking to partner with a digital agency that had a strong grasp on what SEO success should look like, and being able to show digital marketing leadership across a range of their brands.

Initial site wide audits were performed, identifying areas for improvement to aid organic search. The audit covered areas such as meta data & tags, W3C validations, XML sitemap, indexed pages analysis, content analysis, deep linking, link profile, page speed, and much more.


Discovery phase__

The Spiral Foods digital marketing campaign was particularly unique, as Spiral is an umbrella for a range of well known brands and products on our supermarket shelves, meaning a range of websites were to be included in the campaign, meaning a team needed to be identified and allocated that would work across all of these sites to enhance all of their search engine performance metrics.

Some of the website and brands included in this campaign were the well known milk alternative, Bonsoy. Casalare Pasta & Rice. And of course Riverina Grove pasta sauces, condiments, salsas, and more.



Working with the Spiral Foods marketing team Newpath developed a campaign strategy to address key items resulting from the audits, along with on page and off page work to be performed as part of the campaign.

Our copywriters also got to work, working to assist with content marketing as a branch of the SEO campaign.


The results__

Newpath increased organic traffic to each of the Spiral Foods sites, reduced the bounce rate and delivered some key #1 rankings in Google.

Gluten free pasta Australia, tempura flour, and soy milk Australia, were all keywords that achieved  page 1 rankings throughout the campaign under our management.
