Apple AU engaged Newpath to initially provide specialist quality control and quality assurance services to the Apple AU & NZ sites, becoming responsible for all website testing and launch approvals for both sites from a quality perspective. As the relationship grew, Newpath became responsible for 21 websites across South East Asia, AU & NZ for Apple, leading quality control and testing for each. bring together a diverse range of stakeholders to create a streamlined online experience for health practitioners.

Newpath introduced a range of tools, testing processes and launch procedures to help streamline testing and quick release for Apple across all sites under our management.

Some sites under QA management contained upwards of 20,000 pages, with hundreds of minor and medium changes on a daily and weekly basis.

It was important for Newpath & Apple to establish a strong process of working together where changes could be actioned fast, with exceptionally high degrees of certainty around quality outcomes.

The Apple team inside Newpath became widely respected and highly valued for their expert approach to testing for the Apple sites.

Apple sought to engage a partner to assist with:

1. Compliance: Do the websites conform to the Apple signature brand?
2. Accountability: Do the websites provide accurate and timely information to the public?
3. Control: Ensure that all elements of the websites are valid, present and current.
4. Improvement: Ensure the websites work across the majority of browsers and platforms to provide the best customer experience.

The specific criteria Apple was looking for in a QA partner were:

• Attention to detail
• Experience with QA/testing across various platforms and browsers using QA tools for automation of link/syntax checks, regression, etc.
• Experience in writing and implementing testing procedures
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Investigation and documentation of defects
• Reporting test progress and impediments
• Cross-platform and mobile browser experience, including understanding of browser variances
• Technical background including HTML, CSS, Javascript, UNIX, PHP, svn
• Ability to work to tight deadlines while running multiple simultaneous tasks concurrently.
